Expert Contributor Committee Open Meeting
Expert Contributor Committee Open Meeting | Inaugural Kickoff
Tuesday, August 25
11:00 AM Central | 12:00 PM Eastern
Join us for the inaugural meeting of the Inktegrity Expert Contributor Committee, bringing together scientists, researchers, academics, medical and public health professionals, regulators, and other subject matter experts to help strengthen the scientific and technical foundation of our industry's work.
This first meeting will establish the direction and priorities of the committee, beginning with one of Inktegrity's primary charge items for 2026, developing a clear and harmonized definition of Tattoo and Tattooing.
We will also take a broader look at the current state of tattoo and body art research. What do we actually know today? Where are the gaps in the research? What questions still need to be answered, and how can we work together to begin filling those gaps?
Discussion will include:
• Inaugural committee kickoff, purpose, and objectives
• Definition of Tattoo and Tattooing
• Current state of tattoo and body art research
• Identifying research and data gaps
• Regulatory, scientific, and research updates
• Prioritizing the questions that need to be answered
• Developing a collaborative plan to help fill identified research gaps
• Open discussion and Expert Contributor feedback
The goal of this committee is not simply to discuss the science, but to bring experts together across disciplines to identify what is known, determine what is missing, and develop actionable paths toward better research, better data, and better informed decision making.

Inktegrity Committee Open Meeting
Join us for July's Inktegrity Open Meeting and help shape the future of our industry.
One of Inktegrity's primary initiatives this year is establishing a clear, scientifically and regulatorily sound definition of "tattoo" and "tattooing." These definitions have far-reaching implications for regulation, manufacturing, public health, education, and the profession as a whole.
During this meeting, all attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an open, non-binding vote to help determine the industry's preferred direction. Following the discussion, Inktegrity members will conduct an official members-only vote to establish the organization's position and guide our advocacy efforts toward harmonizing these definitions across the industry.
This meeting is open to members and guests. Registration is recommended to attend. Participants who have not registered may be asked to provide their information before joining the discussion. https://meet.google.com/teh-bvfw-kra
